2026 Board Candidates

Candidate Bios

dominique d’anna (incumbent)

Dominique is an Olney native and Olney Mill resident since 2003. She has served on the OMCA Board for many years in varying positions from Treasurer to President. Dominique has represented our community with the Greater Olney Civic Association and also with the Maryland National Park and Planning Commission.  She has 3 children who have grown up in the neighborhood and whom you may have likely seen helping out at all of our annual community events. Dominique hopes to help OMCA continue our neighborhood traditions, keeping Olney Mill a fun family friendly place!

matthew dillon (incumbent)

Matt was raised in Olney Mill and currently lives in the Mill with his wife, Cacy, and their two children.  Matt graduated from University of Maryland and currently works for State Farm Fire Insurance Company.  He has been serving on the Board for ten years helping with all the Annual Activities and the Architectural Control Committee. Matt is co-Vice President of the OMCA and has been vital in all of the recent renovation work in our parks and playgrounds.

BRIAN SMITH (INCUMBENT)

Brian moved to Olney Mill with his wife Melissa in 2011, and it has been home for the past fourteen years. He is the Lead Data Governance and Strategic Planning Analyst for the Employment & Training Administration at the US Department of Labor in DC, and Melissa is a Branch Chief at NIH in Rockville. Brian graduated from Ohio University in 2005 and completed his Ph.D. in Political Science at West Virginia University in 2011. Brian and Melissa have three children (Matthew, Gabby, and Danielle) attending St. Peter’s School. They also have a golden retriever named Daisy. Brian has been on the OMCA Board since 2015 and is very proud to have helped get three new/refurbished playgrounds constructed in the Mill in the past few years. Brian also leads the planning for the Annual Summer Picnic. He looks forward to continuing serving the community as co-Vice President of the Board, in addition to his roles as head of the Communication and Parks Committees.
